How Quickly Can I Improve My Credit Rating?

Anyone setting out to improve their credit rating asks this question, but it’s not really such a plan and simple question. It depends on what you do to work on improving your credit and how bad your situation is. However, I can give an example. If you had the blackest mark possible on your report, which is bankruptcy, with an absolutely great rebuilding plan, it would take about two years to have a decent rating again. You could have a fairly high credit score in about three years. This is with a great rebuilding plan, however. If you’ve got bad credit and you’re trying to get something like a mortgage, you should give yourself at least two years to really get yourself to a good place.
